KOA Campground,
We headed west to drive down the
The first cape, called Meares has a lighthouse that we climbed up to see. The stairs were steep and narrow and we were afraid that the children would fall so we held them tight. The lighthouse, not in use since 1960, had a very expensive lens to help shine its light over 20 miles into the ocean!
We continued driving and enjoyed the beautiful ocean vistas, stopping every once in a while to take in the views. We reached the Waldport campground in the late afternoon. Although it was a sunny day, the wind picked up and we had to dress warmly for the playground. The campground overlooks a nice bay and we can see the water from our RV. Our neighbor told me that you can see sea lions on a sand break that appears in low tide in the morning.
Today we celebrate 100 days on the road. Good night,
