Finally we had a good night of sleep. All the kids slept quietly and woke up happy around 6am. Paola started getting them organized and they woke me up with balloons and a cake for my birthday. Ron even prepared drawings that Picasso and Jacson Polock would be proud of. What more can a dad ask for?

Since we had 200 miles of driving ahead of us, we got organized quickly and set off before 8am. We covered good ground, stopping only once for 45 minutes for a midmorning snack and legstrecher on some god-forsaken exit off of Interstate 40. The kids ran around with the balloons. Unfortunately Shir fell on her face and now has a nice souvenir for a week. Grandmothers not to worry, she got over it quickly.

We arrived in Las Vegas at 12:30pm, and drive into the only RV campground on the strip, courtesy of Circus Circus, the family destination at Las Vegas. It is a hotel and casino but it also has an adventure dome for kids with 22 rides, video games, and a penny arcade.

After a mildly revolting lunch in one of the hotel restaurants (a dire mistake we should have avoided), we went to the arcade to win some stuffed toys. We are happy to report that we did not return empty handed, especially since some of the games have an “every play wins” policy. Our stock after $20 of games is 1 snake, 1 pair of stuff dice, 3 medium frogs, 3 small frogs. The children were ecstatic about their new stuffed friends. Ron played with his Boa Constrictor all afternoon.

After trying to nap for about an hour, all of us together in the back bed of the RV, we gave up and went to the swimming pool. It was 5pm but the sun was still high in the sky and it was very warm. The pool water was cold. Orr did not mind and jumped right in to swim with me. You could see her shivering from the cold but each time I sat her out of the pool on the ledge, she jumped right back in.
The kids are all sleeping now, and Paola is packing the RV back into the 4 large duffle bags. Did we really bring all this stuff in just 4 bags?

Tomorrow morning we return the RV and fly back home.

Good night.
