Today’s weather was dramatically better than yesterday’s torrents. The last of the rain ended around 5:30am and we embarked on a sunny city day. Our first mission was to find a suitable place to park the RV in downtown
Since the weather was so good, we postponed our museum plans even though we were parked right next to the DAM (Denver Museum of Art). Instead we opted to stroll
We strolled till lunchtime and then found a nice Moroccan restaurant for lunch. Nothing like good old Mediterranean food, including hummus and couscous to revive one’s weary body.
After lunch we took a free municipal bus back to the museum area and went in for a little bit of culture. The art museum is newly renovated and had a lot of corners with kids’ activities. We saw some western art as well as contemporary and post modern exhibits. I can’t say that the children were ecstatic about viewing paintings and sculptures, but luckily many had some animal themes (mainly horses) to observe and discuss. Ron particularly wanted to examine an arrow wound that a bison received from an Indian hunter on a horse.
