Today we toured the ranch and saw part of the herd of bison. Turns out that Bison is the correct term for buffalo, but now it’s too late to change names like “Buffalo Bill†to “Bison Billâ€. One of the ranch people took us in a school bus colored red white and blue and drove us right into a group of 20 bison. These are probably sedated or otherwise very cool animals as they did not act aggressive at all. They came up to the bus to get fed hay pellets from the driver and eventually from Ron Shir and Orr. It was interesting to see a buffalo head, larger than one of my kids so close to one of them. (more…)
