We spent some time in the campground playground this morning before heading off to the next national park. If you have never heard of it, that’s ok, neither did we until we saw that it is conveniently located on our way to the Rockies. The Gunnison is a river that flows east west here in Colorado and there is a 40 mile section that runs through a very deep gorge. At the “Black Canyon†part, for a few miles, the distance between the canyon walls is less than a mile, but the height is between 500-700 meters, which means that the river hardly gets to see any sunlight.
